{FBFF} New Year, New Blog, New You…Resolutions, Goals for 2011
I recently joined Fashion Beauty Friend Friday, an interactive group of style bloggers created by Katy of ModlyChic. For those of you not familiar with FBFF, participating bloggers all answer the same list of questions and post their answers on Friday, all at once. It’s a great way to get several perspectives on a given topic. So, without further ado, here’s my first go at it.
What’s the one thing you vow to learn or do in 2011 to improve your blog?
I have a multi-part answer to this question (in spite of the fact that it says “one thing”):
1. I want to complete the switch to Blogger from Tumblr. I love my Tumblr people, but I’m tired of Tumblr being down all the time, and honestly, I don’t need to know as much about HTML to do what I want to do on Blogger.
2. I want to learn more about HTML!
What did you learn about blogging in 2010 that you plan to put into practice next year?
This question makes me laugh a little bit, because I actually learned every bit of what little I do know about blogging in 2010! My blog is only about six months old, and I had never had a real blog before so this has definitely been a learning process, with a lot of trial and error. I think the most important thing that I’ve gotten out of this whole experience is the friends I’ve made in the blogging community. It has been awesome getting to know you all, and your support means so much to me.
Do you have any high-level goals for your blog in the coming year? Monetization? More comments? More connections with other bloggers? A new template?
I want to come up with a more regular posting schedule, if possible. I had a lot going on from October-December this year, and regular posting wasn’t really feasible. I’d like to come up with a blogging plan that is reasonable given my time constraints. Another thing I’d like to do is submit articles to IFB’s Links a la Mode. It’s something I always means to do, but never get around to doing. Also, I’m in the process of moving to Blogger (see #1) where I already have a new and much better template (if I can only get all my posts migrated so I can officially launch the new site)! As far as monetization goes, I doubt that I have the readership level to support it now. But, of course, I’d love to make more connections with all you other bloggers!
If you could collaborate with one other blogger within your sphere of influence in 2011, who would you like to collaborate with, and what would you like to collaborate on?
This question is hard for me, because you are all so awesome, and I think a collaboration with any of you guys would be so much fun. But if I had to pick, I’d say either Angeline from The New Professional or Keira from A Pretty Penny. Angeline focuses on workwear and office tips and chatter, and since I work in corporate environment and mostly showcase my office outfits, I can see that being a good fit. Plus, she’s awesome! Now go read her blog. :) I feel like Keira and I have similar style in that neither of us is a slave to trends; we both have more of a classic approach to fashion. On top of that, she seems like a really down to earth, sweet girl. So check her out too!
What do you plan to do to support other bloggers next year?
I’ll keep being an avid blog reader, and I’d like to comment more. I’m thinking of starting some sort of featured blogger segment or something of that nature. Any thoughts would be appreciated!
